What is Power Factor?
Power factor is the percentage of electricity that’s delivered to your house and used effectively, compared to what is wasted. For example a 1.00 power factor means that all of the electricity being delivered to your home is being efficiently used. However most homes in America today have a .78 power factor and in some cases even lower. That means in most homes that 78 percent of the electricity that is passing through your meter at your home or business is being used efficiently and 22 percent is being wasted by your inductive loads, meaning all of the electric motors in your home. With a low POWER FACTOR, the utility has to deliver more electricity to do the work than is needed. By using a POWER FACTOR OPTIMIZER the power factor can be optimized to .95 to 1.00. This will increase the effective use of your electricity and lower your consumption which will in turn lower your power bill.
